The concept we chose is simple but has a strong visual impact. We created a structure that derives from and alludes to the image of sparkling wine. We created a secondary wooden façade which will mask the original one. The windows of the original façade will be doubled on this secondary façade by perforated wooden panels which will let the light in.
On this secondary façade we placed capsular copper insertions. Apart from the contrast given by the two materials used (wood and copper), the structure will have a strong visual impact due to its stunning reections and light games. Also, the materials were chosen to t into the historical environment.
The copper resembles nearby rooftops, especially the one of the National Bank of Romania. The wooden panels act like a support from the whole composition and are a fresh and modern addition to the series of classical facades of the historical center.
